message from the dean
Hello Texas Engineering Community,
Welcome to another year of Texas Engineer magazine. As dean, it’s been a privilege to watch everything our courageous engineers have done in the last year. I’m so proud of our students, faculty, staff and alumni working hard to solve the world’s most pressing challenges through engineering.
In this year’s magazine, you’ll learn about our leadership in the next generation of semiconductor education, innovative energy research and work to bring quantum to the masses. You’ll also meet the alumni leading the new era of space travel and maximizing the performance of the greatest athletes on the planet.
I am also excited to celebrate the community and culture we’ve built here at the Cockrell School. Learn more about what our faculty and staff are reading, see the lifelong bonds that start here, get to know our engineering-oriented study abroad programs and take a journey through the series of tunnels beneath our feet that are critical to keeping the lights on at UT. And I might even make an appearance here and there!
Thanks for reading and Hook ‘em!
Sincerely,
Roger T. Bonnecaze
Dean
